Recurring charges hide because they are small and because the renewal date is never the day you signed up. Three categories account for most of them.

  • Annual renewals. A $12 monthly charge is noticed; a $99 yearly one arrives once and is forgotten by the next statement.
  • Trials that converted. The charge starts the day the trial ends, which is rarely the first of the month.
  • A second account. Two streaming subscriptions on one household is the most common duplicate we see mentioned.
